I was chatting to few of my batchmates the other day. They talked about something really interesting...about their views on the status of male and female in a marriage. According to them, there should be a 51 % and 49% ratio in any household...51% say of male and 49% say of female. They believed strongly that for a successful and happy family, the above proportion was a must. It just left me thinking few things. How can something so practical and logical like percentages and ratios get into something which is anything but that. This is one relationship which knows no such thing as logic. Its a bond between 2 individuals which binds them forever even though there is no blood relation between them. Two people share their lives together. According to hindu mythology, it is the only relation which goes beyond several lifetimes. Something so ethereal can never be measured in numbers.
The problem today is that we bring our egos into everything and we forget that there is no such thing as "I" or "You" , its always "WE" in this relationship.
